Kanye West's latest album Donda was released earlier today, and Shenseea was featured on two songs. . She was one of two Jamaican Dancehall artists, the other being Buju Banton featured on the 26-track collection.
She was spotted at West's Chicago listening party on Thursday and was revealed to be featured on the outro of track 21, Pure Souls, which also features rapper Roddy Rich.
Shenseea expressed her appreciation for being chosen for the album as well as being coached by Kanye West, who is regarded as a genius in the music and fashion industries.
“People will say they support me but SHOWING that support is what counts! @kanyewest I can’t thank you enough for it all! The insight, the exposure, opportunity, support etc…” Shenseea began.
“You could’ve picked any other female artiste but you chose ME! As you said “this is only the beginning” #DONDA…not 1 but TWO songs on this amazing album. God is great I know the Caribbean proud a me!! Which is your fave?? 1or 2???? ” she asked her fans on her official Instagram account.
In a since-deleted Instagram post last week, Shenseea's A&R Dizzy stated that her Crocodile Teeth freestyle performance on Hot 97 led to her appearance on West's album and its third listening party.
Kanye sings, "Price went up, angel investor," as he introduces Shenseea. “Nuh trust any and every man, pre dem and me play along, watch how dem a play me song suddenly dem tun a fan,” she sings over a beat produced by Boi-1da, Kanye West, and Louis Bell.
