Upon its release, the song became an instant hit, reaching No. 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100, No. 13 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and climbing to No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart. Additionally, it secured top 10 spots in multiple countries, including Hungary, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Ireland, and Finland.
The music video for “I’m Still In Love With You,” directed by the acclaimed Director X (formerly Little X), remains iconic to this day, with over 509 million views on YouTube. Set against a vibrant dancehall backdrop, the video captures the emotional dynamics between two former lovers, showcasing smooth choreography by Tanisha Scott, whose captivating dance moves brought the story’s passion and tension to life. The video’s portrayal of the chemistry between the ex-lovers, paired with dancehall’s pulsating beats, helped further immortalize the song’s place in music history.
Beyond its commercial success, “I’m Still In Love With You” played a crucial role in securing Sean Paul’s international recognition, especially as part of Dutty Rock, which won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. The track was also included on Old to The New: A Steely & Clevie Tribute to Joe Gibbs Classics, a collection that paid homage to Jamaican music legends, solidifying its roots in reggae and dancehall legacy.
