Kingston, Jamaica --May 2024-- A grand event is making its debut in St. Thomas, a stage show aptly titled “Road To Greatness.” Taking place at Yallahs Primary School, the event is happening on June 1, 2024.
“Road To Greatness is about celebrating not just the same people that are highlighted in the media every day, but also those who are making significant strides in the industry incognito or historically. It’s not just performers, we want to highlight and celebrate the journeys of those in the culture of dancehall. This event is just the catalyst for the plans ahead,” CEO Cara Burke stated.
Patrons can expect a unique experience with quality productions and innovative, state of the art lighting. Held by Showtime Services, MEGO Management and The Estate Entertainment, the event’s inaugural staging will feature a fully energetic lineup of talented acts including Shaneil Muir, Rajah Wild, Vanessa Bling, Vershon, Kraff Valiant and Skeng with hosting duties by the vibes minister, Fyahman.
“All of these companies serve the entertainment industry in various areas. Showtime Services is known globally for bookings, project management and planning several other events. The Estate Entertainment is a production company events and recording studio based in the UK and MEGO Management is a talent management company in Jamaica the newest of the trio. I saw an opportunity to highlight all three elements of my entrepreneur repertoire,” Burke highlighted.
Road To Greatness will aim to highlight the beauty and developments of St. Thomas, while also giving artistes a chance to connect with current and potential fans in the area. Additionally, the event will be donating proceeds to the primary school and will be engaging in activities throughout the school year to help develop the music department.
“Personally, I feel like there are some parishes in Jamaica that are oversaturated with events and I believe an experience like Road To Greatness, which has been designed to tour the areas that were often left out, will be a great addition to the industry. I am a booking agent for artistes and I realized that the artistes go to the same areas across the island. The idea isn’t just an event, it’s a tour which gives the rural areas an opportunity to enjoy and now with Boom Energy Drink onboard, it will certainly be extra special,” Burke expressed.
This event will be the first of many, as Burke revealed that there are plans to take the show to more parishes and countries over time.
“Next on my roster is to launch MEGO Management and officially announce the artiste and entertainment roster. Showtime will be producing and assisting on other events. As mentioned before, taking Road To Greatness on tour around Jamaica and hopefully other islands. We will also be hosting workshops and small summits on different elements of the music business,” Burke elaborated.
