Meet Dancehall Artiste and CEO, NEGUS!

Alwin Nurse, aka, NEGUS, is a dancehall reggae artist known for his lyrical versatility and innovative style of music, one who fuses his renowned reggae styles with dynamic productions. He was born in Guyana and now resides in Canada.

Coming from humble beginnings, NEGUS hails from the volatile community of Middle Road/Albouystown. Overcoming hardships as a ghetto youth and its concomitant challenges, he knew from an early age that music was his way out. Unsurprisingly, NEGUS gravitated to the world of music. It helped that he was born to a father with a long history in the entertainment industry. His father, Kenneth Nurse, aka Small Man, was the manager and recording artist of a popular Guyanese music band called the Mingles Sound Machine.

NEGUS was educated at the St. Pius Primary School in Georgetown and went on to enhance his proficiencies in graphic design, video editing, and tattoo artistry in Canada. NEGUS is acutely aware of and confident in his talent, and with the drive and natural ability he possesses, he has continued to make the most of his opportunities and sees himself as one of the most successful recording artists/producers in the industry in the very near future.

As with all harvests, the cream rises to the top, and where natural talent thrives, the connected people will come knocking. Negus's musical accomplishments have caught the right ears. He has been able to capitalize on and collaborate with gifted industry artists and producers, the likes of Konshens, Tommy Lee Sparta, Sikka Rymes, Chronic Law, TJ Records, Marcus Records, YGF Records, and more. Teamwork has borne fruit with Grammy award winning producer Anjublaxx and Billboard producer Jr. Dillinger on his EP "Survivor". The EP features international recording dancehall artists like Tommy Lee Sparta and Chronic Law in combination.
