Trinidadian, Road March Champs, Kes The Band are ready to make history this weekend as the only Caribbean act chosen to perform on Saturday night at the 26th Essence Festival of Culture.
The Essence Festival, also known as "the party with a purpose," is an annual music festival that began in 1995 as a one-time event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Essence magazine, a popular publication aimed primarily at African-American women.
As a result, the Essence Festival grew to become the largest African-American culture and music festival in the United States.
DJ Khaled and friends, Davido, Jasmine Sullivan, Jhene Aiko, NeYo, and others are among the performers on the Essence Fest lineup. Fans can watch Kes' groundbreaking performance at Essence Festival this Saturday night from 7-10 p.m. by going to www.essencestudios.com.
