Jamaican Dancehall Artist Trekar Charged With Human Trafficking In Canada

Trekar, a Jamaican deejay living in Canada, was charged with human trafficking last week. The 28-year-old entertainer, whose real is Trekar Blake, is accused of trafficking in persons by exercising control and receiving material benefit. He’s in custody pending a bail hearing.
The force's human trafficking unit launched an investigation in May after a complainant claimed she was trafficked for sexual services at a Mississauga hotel by a man she met through a mutual friend, according to police.
According to the authorities, “investigators were able to identify the accused, and he was recently arrested.” The accused, later identified as Blake, was charged as a result.
