ANTHONY HAMILTON Surprises Audience With Special Performance of "LESSONS" (REMIX

Anthony Hamilton went head to head with Musiq Soulchild last night at the Valentine's Day VerzuzTV special and Anthony brought out his brothers, Eric Roberson, Raheem DeVaughn and Kevin Ross to perform the Top 20 R&B single in the country, "LESSON" (Remix).

"LESSONS" (REMIX) was written by Eric Roberson, Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn and Kevin Ross and produced by Anikan & Vader and Jairus Mozee. (Quote - Inspiration behind the song). "LESSONS" is lifted from Eric Roberson's anticipated forthcoming 17th studio album, entitled "LESSONS". The album will be released on April 1st, 2022, via the B.L.U.E. ERRO SOUL label imprint and is available for pre-orders now at www.EricRobersonMusic.com. Eric will also be releasing his first book, "LESSONS - The Book (100 Thoughts On Life & Love)" on February 21st.

"LESSONS" (REMIX) received its exclusive First Listen on RollingOut.com. "With over 20 years in the game as an independent artist, Roberson is rightfully celebrating a worthy milestone and his new release, “Lessons,” is a fitting entry for a resume worth its weight in platinum," mentions N. Ali Early, Senior Editor of RollingOut.com. "Words are not able to describe the amazing feeling of performing this song with my brothers live and direct to the world from the Verzuz stage. The feeling is still indescribable," mentions Eric Roberson.

The inspiration and concept for “Lessons” came to Eric around 3am on the morning of his 13th wedding anniversary. Eric was sitting in his studio feeling rather creative and as he was reflecting over his life, he started working on an idea that would soon become the song, "Lessons.” He posted 60 seconds of the song online and then went to bed. What Eric woke up to, was the biggest reaction he has received from his music in years: thousands of his fans downloaded the snippet of the song. “God has a funny way of showing you lessons. Often times, we feel good about a release, but rarely do we have the luxury of knowing ahead of time that it works,” says Eric.

"With the remix, I didn’t want to just get three of my favorite singers, I also wanted three of my favorite writers. I’m honored to get their perspectives on the ups and downs of love and how it all leads us to where we are supposed to be," mentions Roberson.

Raheem DeVaughn adds, “For sometime it’s been on my vision board to be in a Soulful R&B super-group with both Anthony, Eric and Dwele, the only thing missing after this remix is a follow-up album, LOL! Hearing Kevin Ross on the remix is breathe of fresh air he’s definitely one of the new millennium King’s killing the game for the future of soul & r&b“.

"I'm honored to be on the Lesson Remix with such seasoned vets in the game. Each artist's perspective and approach on this record is different, which makes it exciting to listen to. Eric is a mastermind in how he put this together," shares Kevin.

ABOUT ERIC ROBERSON: My brother Eric Roberson, I believe, is one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time.” - DJ Jazzy Jeff

He is a brilliant singer with a voice like red velvet cake.” Jill Scott.

As a GRAMMY Award-nominee, Singer, Songwriter, Producer and Howard University alum, Eric Roberson continues to break boundaries as an independent artist in an industry dominated by major labels, manufactured sounds and mainstream radio. Eric has achieved major milestones in his career, from being a successful songwriter and producer for notable artists such as Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, Dwele, Vivian Green and countless others, to headlining sold out tours across the country.

Eric is celebrating over twenty years as an independent artist, creating “Honest Music” since 2001, which has afforded him the artistic freedom that isn’t typically offered in the mainstream music industry. To celebrate this achievement, Eric released a new single in June 2021, entitled “Lessons”. Also throughout 2021, Eric will be sharing his creative thought process and work he’s done on his last 13 solo albums in the Clubhouse app and on his website, EricRobersonMusic.com. In 2020, Eric used this unprecedented time of solitude from the world to immerse himself creatively. With this, he created a powerful album, entitled “Hear from Here”, a musical cry out to its listeners who longed for a sound of hope. Roberson describes “Hear from Here” as an “act of service” to his devoted fans.

Eric is currently a Professor at the legendary Berklee College of Music in Boston. When asked about the position he stated that, “It was an opportunity that I couldn’t refuse. I truly believe that at all times we are teachers and students. I not only love teaching the students but learning from them as well.”

In 2017, Eric created “The Process”, a forum in which he invites fans to navigate through his creative experience. It allows fans to listen and comment to unreleased songs, thereby being a part of the “process” of making music. “We are losing so much of the culture that went with listening to music. Letting the fans watch us create the albums was our way of bringing some of the old music culture back.” says Eric.
