With the release of “The Unconquerebel,” Hempress Sativa's debut Independent 13 track LP, produced by Conquering Lion Records earlier in 2017, the Queen Cannabis made her first appearance in Europe spanning throughout Belgium, France, Spain and England. With an impressive set at Reggae Geel expertly backed by her band Unconquerebels. At Rototom Sunsplash, she dominated the stage with a noteworthy performance. Back in the US, Minneapolis was uncharted territory to be conquered by the Queen Cannabis as she made a rare appearance with The Scientist sponsored by Redbull Sound Select, introducing her sound to a sold out venue receiving great reviews.
Hempress Sativa and the Unconquerebel Band recently performed at the 27th staging of the Martin Luther King Day Celebration on January 15, 2018 in Sandiego, California. They will also tour Europe from April 20 to March 30. Countries include Belgium, Paris, France and Spain. Sativa has been a popular name on the Jamaican scene for years performing at Rebel Salute, Reggae Sumfest and “Bob Marley” events, sponsored by Digicel. Hempress Sativa seeks to continue to spread her positive message across Jamaica and throughout the world.
The self-proclaimed Humilitant songstress recently released a Dub LP “Scientist Meets Hempress Sativa in Dub” on February 11, 2018. Hempress Sativa and her management team will be staging a stellar event in Jamaica, showcasing her full band performing live along with guest Artistes Kelissa, Samory I, Keida, Aza Lineage, Vijahn and Ras Malekot. Musical selections will be spun by her father the legendary drummer and selector Albert ‘Ilawi Malawi” Johnson (formerly of Twelve Tribes of Israel’s sound Jah Love Muzik) , who she describes as her greatest musical influence. The event will be hosted by dub poet and youth development expert Steppa. The event HEMPRESS SATIVA LIVE is to be staged at Skyline Levels on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 6B Skyline Drive Jacks Hill, Kingston JA. Gates open at 8pm and Showtime is 9pm sharp.
