Fast-Rising, Jamaican-Born, US Based, International Recording Artiste, Reggae Singer and Professional Model Lady Genius whose real name is Danette Mahabeer has been described as a Unique addition to
The Reggae Music Industry and The Entertainment Sector with her high standard vocal variety and versatility.
The 26 year old Libra who was born and raised in May Pen, Clarendon, has been a Performer since 2010 but became a Recording Artiste in March 2013. Lady Genius has released over 10 Songs which
are all available on Itunes, Amazon, Cdbaby, Spotify among many other distribution sites.
Songs like SUITCASE, NAH STOP TRY, HURT & BROKEN, MR. LOYAL and DOWN TO RIDE, just to name a few has been placed in the top five (5) on many local and international Reggae Charts in UK, Canada,
USA, and the Caribbean. Her songs have also been placed on many Local and International Reggae Mixtapes by well-known Disc Jockeys which are circulated worldwide.
The official Music Video has been launched for four (4) of her previously released Singles: SUITCASE, STAY, DOWN TO RIDE and NO ONE (A Reggae Cover Version of Alicia Keys). In April 2015, she
successfully launched her first EP titled “Down To Ride” in Kingston, Jamaica.
While gaining credit for producing some her own riddims and songs, Lady Genius has also done works with Local and International Producers and Record Labels such as Ed Robinson, Push Hitz Records in New York, Black Diamond Family Records in Atlanta and Move-Up Records in Jamaica, to name a few.
Lady Genius has done two successful collaborations, one with Reggae Veteran Anthony Malvo titled “HURT YOU” and “DOWN TO RIDE” Featuring Vybrid. She has been featured as a main act in two
International Movies: “The Life of The DJ” Filmed in Canada, that was released in Summer 2015 and “The True Talent” Filmed in Los Angeles, California.
In January 2013, Lady Genius performed live at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in Trelawny and opened for International Main Acts such as Mary J. Blige, Michael Bolton and John Legend with over
200,000 Patrons from all over the world. Lady Genius has performed in Canada, New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Nashville, Cayman Islands, Antigua, California, Orlando, Atlanta and Mississippi just to
name a few. She also performed on the International Reggae Wine Festival, Mobay Jerk Festival, Westmoreland Curry Festival and Caribbean Shrimp Festival which was held in Jamaica.
Lady Genius has been awarded the Chris Gayle’s Award and the title “Brand Ambassador” of the Chris Gayle Sports Lounge “Triple Century” in New Kingston. The multi-time winning Gold Medalist and Awardee in the 2015 World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) as a Vocalist and Model, Lady Genius successfully represented Jamaica in Los Angeles, California against 62 countries and was awarded with: The Industry Award, Gold in Swim Wear Modeling, Gold in Spokes Modeling, Overall Division Winner, Silver in Vocals (Original Works) and Silver in Vocals (Open).
Her Single “Suitcase” was nominated three times in three different countries for Song of the Year 2015. She was also nominated for Performer of the Year 2015 and Conscious Artiste of the year 2015
on Roots 96.1 FM in Jamaica and Artiste of the Year 2015 on BDS RADIO in Canada. She was awarded the title Performer of the Year 2015.
Lady Genius will be releasing her first Album in Mid 2016 titled “Nah Stop Try”, which is also the title of one of her previously released Single. The album will be a compilation of twelve (12) Tracks.
Lady Genius is now looking forward to touring Europe this year as she continuously stays firm in the Business with her dedication, determination and great Talent.
